NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department confirmed the arrest of Terrell Porch, a 27-year-old male resident of New York City, on Monday evening in connection with a hate crime incident. The reported crime occurred on Sunday, July 16.
Porch faces a series of charges including hate crime/robbery, robbery, hate crime/assault, criminal possession of stolen property, aggravated harassment, and assault. The NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is leading the investigation into this incident.
According to the information received by the police, on the aforementioned date, a 49-year-old male was assaulted and robbed in front of 427 West 154 Street.
The assailants, including Porch, allegedly attacked the man while making anti-LGBTQIA+ remarks, and fled with his cellphone and wallet containing approximately $200 and a credit card. The victim sought medical attention independently.
