Police Continue Investigation Into Man Found Dead at Delaware Recycling Center

NEW CASTLE, DE – The Delaware State Police are investigating the death of 54-year-old Lorenzo Gomez-Lopez of Laurel, Delaware. Gomez-Lopez was found dead at the Delaware Recycling Center at 1101 Lambson Lane in New Castle on Tuesday, June 21, at approximately 1:30 pm.

Gomez-Lopez was not an employee of the recycling center and his cause of death is currently unknown, with autopsy results pending.

His last known whereabouts were outside a home on the 9000 block of Yew Drive in Laurel, Delaware, on Sunday, June 18, at around 2 pm. His activities and location between then and the discovery of his body remain unclear.

The Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit is seeking public assistance with this case.
