PHILADELPHIA, PA – A Philadelphia man, Michael Flynn, 67, previously convicted as a sex offender, was found guilty of multiple charges including unlawful contact with a minor and attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.
Flynn had been posing online as a younger person, engaging in explicit conversations and attempting to arrange a meeting for sexual contact with what he believed to be a 14-year-old child, who was in fact an undercover police officer.
The jury’s verdict was announced by Attorney General Michelle Henry, who highlighted the role of the internet in enabling such predatory behavior.
Flynn’s sentencing is scheduled for November 17.
Flynn’s actions, which included offering $150 to the supposed minor for a meeting, were uncovered during an investigation by the Office of Attorney General and the Philadelphia Police Department.
