NEW YORK, NY – Today, in New York City, there is a high likelihood of showers and thunderstorms. Some of these storms may bring gusty winds and heavy rainfall. The sky will be mostly cloudy, and the temperature will remain steady around 75 degrees.

A south wind of about 7 mph is expected. The chance of precipitation is 70%, and new rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible.

A frontal system is approaching the region, which could bring showers and thunderstorms, potentially leading to localized flash flooding. The Weather Prediction Center has identified a slight risk for excessive rainfall in certain areas, including the lower Hudson Valley, northeast New Jersey, NYC, and southwest Connecticut, with a marginal risk elsewhere. On Saturday, the weather will be sunny, with a high near 84 degrees. A northwest wind of around 7 mph is expected.
