CLARENCE, NY – A man from Clarence, Henry L. Jurek, 45, was arraigned before Newstead Town Court Justice Dennis Freeman on Friday night.
The charges include one count each of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, attempted second-degree assault, third-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction of governmental administration, and disorderly conduct.
On Thursday, July 13, around 7:45 pm, Jurek allegedly injured a victim by forcing their head into cement during a dispute at a residence on Silver Birch Court in Clarence. Jurek also reportedly prevented the victim from leaving the house. Upon receiving a 911 call about the situation, a deputy from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene.
Jurek is further accused of interfering with the deputy’s entry into the house and resisting arrest. The victim was transported to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital for treatment.
Jurek’s felony hearing is set for Wednesday, at 3:30 pm. If convicted of the highest charge, Jurek could face up to four years in prison.
