OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Township of Ocean, located in the County of Ocean, State of New Jersey, is seeking sealed bid packets for the Hornblower Drive Bulkhead Replacement project. Bids will be received at the Ocean Township Municipal Complex (courtroom), 50 Railroad Ave, Waretown, New Jersey, on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 10:30 AM prevailing time. At that time and place, the bid packets will be publicly unsealed, and their contents will be announced in public.
The scope of work for the Hornblower Drive Bulkhead Replacement project includes the removal of an existing timber bulkhead and the installation of a new vinyl bulkhead system. Additionally, it involves roadway restoration, driveway restoration, surface restoration, and any other necessary work to complete the project. The contract requires all work to be completed within 60 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
Contract documents and plans for the proposed work have been prepared by Jason Worth, P.E., from the firm of T&M Associates. Prospective bidders may inspect the contract documents at the office of the engineer located at 1144 Hooper Avenue, Suite 202, Toms River, NJ 08753 during business hours. Bidders can obtain a copy of the contract documents by providing proper notice and paying a non-refundable charge of Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) payable to “T&M Associates” at the offices of T&M Associates to cover the cost.
To submit a bid, the provided bid packet must be completed according to the instructions in the contract documents. The packet should be enclosed in a sealed envelope, clearly indicating the bidder’s name, address, and the name of the project on the outside. It must be addressed to the Township of Ocean, attention to Diane Ambrosio, Township Clerk.
In addition to the bid packet, bidders must include a Statement of Consent of Surety from a surety company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. They must also provide either a Bid Bond or a Certified Check drawn to the order of Township of Ocean, with an amount equal to or greater than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price. However, the check should not exceed $20,000.00.
