Toms River Council Approves $233k Purchase from North Jersey Car Dealer

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Route 37 in Toms River is lined with new car dealers and used car dealers, but last week the town council chose a car dealer in Butler, New Jersey for the purchase of $233,000 in new vehicles for the township.

The Township Council of Toms River has passed a resolution authorizing the award of a contract to Route 23 Automall LLC for the purchase of two new Ford F550 Regular Cab Full Hydraulic Switch-N-Go trucks.

The acquisition, intended for the Department of Public Works, comes at a total cost not to exceed $233,646.00.

During a recent council meeting, the resolution was approved, signifying the council’s commitment to upgrading the fleet of vehicles used by the Department of Public Works.

The decision to award the contract to Route 23 Automall LLC was based on a thorough evaluation process that considered factors such as cost, specifications, and the reputation of the vendor.

The two trucks being purchased are 2023 models or newer and are equipped with the innovative Switch-N-Go system, which allows for efficient and quick interchangeability of truck bodies. This versatility enables the Department of Public Works to adapt the trucks for various tasks and enhances operational efficiency.

There are five Switch-N-Go vendors in New Jersey, including two in Monmouth County, Jersey Truck Equipment, and Monmouth Truck Equipment.
