ATM Armed Robber Targeted Elderly Man in Wheelchair

COLUMBUS, OH – Detectives are requesting the public’s help to identify a suspect involved in an armed robbery. The incident took place on July 12, at a bank ATM in the 1400 block of W. Broad St.

The victim, an elderly man seated in a wheelchair, was withdrawing money when the suspect approached him and attempted to take the money.

A brief struggle ensued before the suspect eventually made off with the cash, fleeing the scene on a BMX-style bicycle.

The suspect is described as a black man, 25 to 30 years old, around 6’2″, 220 pounds, with black hair, wearing blue pants, and carrying a black backpack.
