CATONSVILLE, MD- Excitement is brewing as the Maryland Lottery searches for the lucky winner of a $500,000 Double Play ticket sold at Westway Liquors, located at 5312 Edmondson Avenue in Catonsville. The winning ticket, purchased at the Baltimore County retailer, hit the second-tier prize in the July 17 drawing, with the Double Play numbers being 9, 37, 38, 62, and 69, and the Powerball number being 23.
Double Play is an additional drawing that occurs about 30 minutes after the Powerball drawing. For an extra $1, players can add the Double Play option to their tickets, receiving one set of numbers for both the regular draw and the Double Play draw. The Double Play offers a top prize of an incredible $10 million.
The upcoming Powerball drawing, set for Wednesday, boasts a staggering estimated annuity jackpot of $1 billion, with a cash value of approximately $516.8 million, making it the third-largest jackpot in the game’s history.
Meanwhile, tonight, the spotlight falls on Mega Millions, with its estimated annuity jackpot standing at an impressive $640 million and an estimated cash value of $328 million.
Officials from the Maryland Lottery urge all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and keep them in a secure location. Claimants have 182 days from the drawing date to redeem their prizes.

For prizes exceeding $25,000, players must redeem them by mail or visit the Lottery headquarters located at the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, Baltimore. The Lottery’s Claims Center in Baltimore is operating on an appointment-only basis (no walk-ins).
