Philadelphia Wakes to Wet and Rain Day with More on the Way

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Sunday morning is turning out to be a wet one across the city and it will continue that way until Monday morning. A passing thunderstorm woke the city up at around 5 am on Sunday dropping about a half of an inch of rain.

For the rest of the day, expect showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, mainly before 4 pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rainfall. The high temperature will be near 87°F.

The wind will start from the southwest at around 5 mph, becoming calm. There is an 80% chance of precipitation, and new rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches are possible.

Tonight, scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible, mainly before 8 pm. Patchy fog may develop after 2 am. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 73°F. The wind will be from the southwest at around 5 mph, becoming calm.

There is a 30% chance of precipitation, and new precipitation amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch are expected, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

On Monday, expect patchy fog before 8 am, followed by sunny skies. The high temperature will be near 92°F . The wind will be light, starting from the northwest at around 5 mph and becoming southwest in the afternoon.
