Oxon Hill, MD – An Oxon Hill resident from Prince George’s County experienced a stroke of luck when she made an impulsive decision to purchase an Ultimate Cash scratch-off while buying alcoholic beverages at a White Plains liquor store. The woman, aged 50, was inspired by another customer who had bought Ultimate Cash instant tickets and decided to join in on the game.

Although she occasionally plays scratch-offs, this particular purchase was motivated by observing the customer ahead of her. “I was in a liquor store buying drinks and the guy in front of me bought two tickets. So, I decided that I wanted to buy the third ticket,” she shared.

The federal government employee purchased the $10 Ultimate Cash ticket and immediately scanned it to check for any winnings. To her astonishment, she discovered she had won $50,000. “I couldn’t believe it. My eyes got big,” she expressed.

When asked about her plans for the prize money, the delighted winner mentioned her love for travel but remained undecided about how she would specifically use the funds. The fortunate purchase was made at Jimmie’s Paddock, located at 4740 Crain Highway in Charles County.

The Ultimate Cash game, which debuted on June 19, has already awarded three $50,000 prizes. It remains the second most popular scratch-off on the Maryland Lottery’s Top 40 Scratch-offs list. All eight top prizes of $100,000 are still unclaimed, along with 51 $10,000 prizes. Additionally, there are numerous prizes ranging from $10 to $1,000 that have yet to be claimed.
