Brooklyn Man Admits to Drunk Driving in Serious Motor Vehicle Crash

SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. – Kevin Rosas Daqui, 25, of Brooklyn, pleaded guilty on Monday, to charges of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, and Reckless Driving. Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney made the announcement.

Daqui was involved in a high-speed crash on November 5, 2022, at approximately 12:37 am, where he collided with a disabled vehicle on Sagtikos Parkway, near Crooked Hill Road. The incident led to a double amputation of the legs of a female victim and significant injuries to two of Daqui’s passengers. A blood sample revealed Daqui’s blood alcohol content was .22%, almost triple the legal limit, at the time of the crash. Rosas Daqui is due back in court to be sentenced on September 14.
