Shooting Claims Life of 22-Year-Old in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 22-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Northwest, D.C. The Washington, D.C. Metro Police Department is investigating the shooting.

Police received a shooting report at the 3500 Block of 13th Street shortly before midnight. Upon reaching the scene, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital by EMS, but unfortunately, despite all attempts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries.

22-year-old Jesse Benitez of D.C. was identified as the victim. Police are looking for a four-door dark color Kia.
