BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Last Thursday, Sherrin Saddler, a 34-year-old former window clerk at the Parkville Station post office in Bensonhurst, was arraigned before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Michael Kitsis. Saddler is charged with second-degree grand larceny, official misconduct, and 180 counts of first-degree falsifying business records.
According to the indictment, Saddler is accused of stealing over $160,000 from customers who purchased money orders. Investigations suggest that between November 15, 2019, and July 30, 2020, Saddler received cash from customers for money orders, voided the money orders after the customers left, and kept the cash. As the voided money orders returned to the U.S. Federal Reserve for accounting, the loss was discovered.
Saddler was released without bail and is due back in court on September 13. United States Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General, Northeast Area Field Office, and the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office collaborated on the investigation leading to these charges.
