AKRON, OH – Three individuals wanted in connection with separate homicide cases have been recently apprehended by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) in a series of arrests made on Friday.
Christopher Johnson, aged 30, who has been sought by the Akron Police and the U.S. Marshals Service since 2017, was arrested in Parkersburg, West Virginia. Johnson and three accomplices were implicated in the shooting death of Brandon Belleville in September 2017. His three accomplices were previously apprehended and convicted. On Friday, acting on fresh leads, NOVFTF, in cooperation with the Akron Police and FBI, arrested Johnson at an apartment building on 27th St. Johnson will remain in custody in Parkersburg until his extradition to Summit County.
Later in the day, members of the NOVFTF also arrested Christian West, aged 27, wanted by the Garfield Heights Police Department for the shooting death of Devonte Brown on April 15th. Brown was killed outside a Dollar General on Turney Rd. in Garfield Heights. West and an accomplice, who has been taken into custody earlier, shot the victim and then stole his vehicle. West was apprehended in a residence on Donovan Dr. in Garfield Heights.
Finally, Shaniqua Menefee, 34, wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police, was arrested without incident at an apartment on Broadway Ave. in Cleveland. Menefee is accused of running over a man with her vehicle early on Sunday morning, causing his death.
