Ex-Camden Housing Authority Manager Pleads Guilty Over Section 8 Fraud

CAMDEN, NJ – Traci Willis, a 55-year-old ex-manager with the City of Camden Housing Authority, pleaded guilty to third-degree conspiracy to tamper with public records on Wednesday. The guilty plea was made at the state Superior Court in Camden County.

As part of the plea agreement, Willis entered a consent order that includes a lifetime ban on public office and a recommended sentence of probation, conditioned on her serving up to 364 days in the Camden County Jail.

Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin announced the plea in connection with Willis’ inappropriate use of Section 8 funds. These funds were meant to subsidize the rent of low-income tenants but were instead allocated to a family member, who is a landlord, and a real-estate company controlled by Willis.
