Lakewood, NJ – In a dangerous road rage incident that occurred late last night, a Lakewood man became the target of an aggressive driver, resulting in damage to his vehicle. Officer Daniel DeBartolomeis responded to the scene at the intersection of Cross Street and Massachusetts Avenue upon receiving a call around 11:15 pm reporting shots fired.
The victim, a 22-year-old Lakewood resident, recounted the experience to Officer DeBartolomeis. According to the man, the incident happened at the junction of Massachusetts Avenue and Rt 70, where he inadvertently cut off another driver. The situation escalated as both vehicles continued their journey northbound on Massachusetts Avenue.
The unidentified suspect, apparently driven by anger, resorted to extreme measures by discharging a single round from a gun toward the victim’s vehicle. The bullet pierced through the rear driver’s side door before embedding itself in the unoccupied front passenger seat.
