WINDSOR, MD – A devoted Maryland Lottery player from Windsor Mill, Baltimore County, who has a fondness for Pick 3/4/5 games, has recently experienced a significant win.
Known as “Bubba” for the purpose of sharing his story, the player revealed that he often trusts his intuition and frequently wins small prizes. However, his recent win was unlike anything he had ever encountered before, as he claimed a $50,000 prize by playing the numbers 90990 in the Pick 5 evening drawing on June 11.
With his daughter by his side, “Bubba” expressed his excitement while relaxing in the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. Reflecting on his win, he said, “The numbers came straight to me. This is the biggest prize I’ve ever had.”
“Bubba” and his wife enjoy playing Lottery games together. As a retired Baltimore longshoreman and former employee of the Domino Sugar refinery, the 76-year-old, who is a father of 10 and a grandfather of 12, finds joy in his Lottery hobby. To purchase the winning ticket for the June 11 drawing, he visited Ingleside Food Mart in Catonsville, where he bought a $1 straight bet ticket.
The winning moment occurred when “Bubba” and his wife were at home, going through their tickets and checking for any wins from the evening drawings. It was then that his wife realized that Lottery luck had paid them a visit. Although they had previously won twice with a boxed Pick 5 ticket, winning with a $1 straight bet was an entirely new and pleasantly surprising experience for them.
“I was really surprised,” admitted “Bubba.” Now, with the prize money, he plans to divide it with “Mrs. Bubba” and utilize the funds for home improvements, gifts for their grandchildren, and purchasing a different vehicle.
The Baltimore County Lottery retailer, Ingleside Food Mart, located at 1022 Ingleside Avenue in Catonsville, will also benefit from “Bubba’s” fortunate experience. As the seller of the $50,000-winning ticket in the game, the store will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
