MORRIS COUNTY, NJ – A Morris County Prosecutor, Robert J. Carroll, along with Chief of Detectives Robert M. McNally, and Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Chief Richard Pantina have announced the sentencing of Earl Kelly, 38, of Hamilton, NJ. Kelly has been sentenced to 12 years in New Jersey State Prison. On Monday, the Honorable Stephen J. Taylor imposed the sentence following a six-day trial which ended on April 20, 2023.
Kelly was found guilty of second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and third-degree Criminal Restraint. The charges stemmed from an incident on December 24, 2021, at the Holiday Inn in Parsippany where Kelly was alleged to have restrained a 19-year-old woman in a room while armed with a handgun. Kelly was apprehended by the Edison Police Department on January 7, 2022.
