AKRON, OH – The Akron Police Department reported a shooting incident that occurred early Sunday morning on Minson Way, East Akron. Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 1:20 a.m., finding a 17-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. The teen was rushed to Summa Akron City Hospital; his condition remains unknown.
Further investigation revealed a second victim, a 16-year-old male found in a nearby Fuller Avenue home. He had gunshot wounds to the legs and was also taken to Summa Akron City Hospital. The incident, which started at a large party, also led to the arrest of a 36-year-old woman at the scene and the 19-year-old driver of a vehicle that fled the scene, in which two loaded handguns were found.
