Germantown, MD – A 57-year-old man was shot and killed Friday evening in an incident that unfolded at the Middlebrook Commons apartments on Gunners Branch Road.

The victim, identified as Errick Roy Dixon, was found in the grassy area behind one of the apartment buildings.

The Montgomery County Department of Police’s 5th District officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired at approximately 8:03 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Dixon, a resident of the complex, and Montgomery County Fire Rescue was called to the scene.

Dixon was pronounced dead at the scene. No information regarding the suspect or a description of the vehicle involved has been provided thus far.

Authorities recovered several shell casings from the apartment complex’s parking lot, indicating that multiple shots had been fired. The victim’s body has been transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
