LEVITTOWN, NY – David Cahoon, a 44-year-old resident of Dix Hills, has been convicted for the 2019 murder of his 70-year-old uncle, William Cahoon. The conviction was announced on Thursday by Nassau County District Attorney Anne T. Donnelly, after a trial before Judge Robert Bogle.

On Monday, January 4, 2019, the body of William Cahoon was found with approximately 16 stab wounds in his Levittown home by members of the Nassau County Police Department. This was after the staff at the Milleridge Inn, where William was a regular, raised concerns about his well-being, having not seen him for about four weeks.

The investigation revealed that David Cahoon had committed the murder on Monday, December 3, 2018, and had also stolen $1,800 from the victim by fraudulently cashing a check from William’s bank account. David Cahoon was arrested on Wednesday, June 19, 2019.
