SILVER SPRING, MD – Montgomery County Police 4th District Patrol Investigations Unit (PIU) has arrested three Silver Spring residents for a violent assault that occurred near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Reedie Drive in Wheaton on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

The suspects identified as Kevin Vargas Gomez, age 20, Jose Ingles Mendez, age 30, and Heidy Gomez Rodriguez, age 36, reportedly punched and stabbed the victim in the 2400 block of Reedie Drive. After the victim fled towards Georgia Avenue, Gomez and Mendez continued the assault before fleeing the scene in a vehicle driven by Gomez Rodriguez.

On Monday, May 1, 2023, Gomez was arrested by the Montgomery County Police Department. Gomez Rodriguez and Mendez were apprehended on Friday, May 26.

They now face numerous charges, including attempted first and second-degree murder, assault, and conspiracy to commit murder.
