SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Kason Parker, 35, from Albany, was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison on Thursday by Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney, following his guilty plea earlier this month to second-degree murder for the fatal stabbing of Meghan Kiefer in 2021.

According to the investigation, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, Kiefer, 27, from Coram, was stabbed 54 times by Parker, her ex-boyfriend, after a verbal altercation on the front porch of her home.

Following a tip-off, Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Squad Detectives located Parker on a bus destined for North Carolina from New York City, and he was arrested on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Parker’s red Acura, covered in what appeared to be blood, was found abandoned at Schmitt’s Family Farm in Dix Hills on Monday, October 25, 2021.

The trial began on April 26, 2021, before Supreme Court Justice, the Honorable Timothy P. Mazzei. Parker pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, a Class A felony, on the afternoon of Monday, May 1, 2023.
