Series of Scooter Robberies Have NYPD on Alert

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department has turned to the public for assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a trend of scooter robberies in the city. These incidents have taken place within the confines of the 115 and 109 Precincts and have escalated in their frequency.

The incidents took place on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, during which two victims were targeted in separate events. In both instances, the victims were forcibly removed from their scooters, with the suspects making their escape on the stolen scooters. The first incident occurred at approximately 7:52 pm, involving a 40-year-old male victim on Roosevelt Avenue. The second incident took place later that night, at approximately 10:00 pm, and targeted a 28-year-old male victim near College Point Boulevard.

Neither victim sustained injuries during the incidents, but both were left without their transportation. The NYPD urges anyone with information about these incidents to come forward and aid in their ongoing investigation.
