Fieldsboro Man Arrested in Connection with Hamilton Township Shooting

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ – Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri announced today that an investigation led by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Hamilton Police Division resulted in the arrest of Joshua Davis, an 18-year-old man from Fieldsboro, NJ, in connection with the shooting death of Matthew Morales. The incident occurred on Wednesday.

Officers responded to a shooting in progress in the 4900 block of S. Broad Street shortly after 1 a.m. where they found Morales, 28, from Blackwood, NJ, in the driveway of a home near Pilgrim Way suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Davis faces charges of first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. He was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday afternoon in Mount Laurel.
