ALEXANDRIA, VA – After an intensive investigation, the Alexandria Police Department has made significant progress in the city’s first homicide case of 2022. Dontae LaShawn Drumgold, a 28-year-old resident of Prince William County, was arrested in connection with the homicide.
Drumgold was taken into custody without incident, and he is now facing charges of First-Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. The arrest was a result of a dedicated and persistent effort by the Alexandria Police Department, who worked tirelessly to gather evidence and build a strong case against Drumgold.
The victim, whose name has been withheld for privacy reasons, was found dead in an Alexandria residential area earlier this year.
The death was ruled a homicide, marking the city’s first of the year in 2022.
