FRANKLIN PARK, NJ – New Jersey State Police recently concluded the 40th Annual National Missing Children’s Day Poster Contest with the theme “Bringing Our Missing Children Home.” The contest is aimed at raising awareness for missing and exploited children, and promoting child safety among youths and their families.
The New Jersey State Police Missing Persons & Human Trafficking Unit received entries from 16 different schools across the state, with a total of 85 poster submissions. After careful consideration, the state winner was announced as Aditya Jagan Mohan, a fifth-grader from Franklin Park School.
According to the police department, Aditya’s artwork and story best represented the state of New Jersey and the law enforcement partners’ efforts in investigating missing children cases. His poster will now be submitted to the Justice Department for entry on the national level, as New Jersey’s representative.
The competition is a national initiative that aims to involve the youth in the search for missing children and to raise awareness about child safety. The state winner’s poster will be used as a tool to raise awareness and promote safety measures to protect children.
