NEW YORK CITY – New York City police officers located a man with a gunshot wound to the head early Saturday morning. At around 4:30 am, officers responding to a 911 call reporting gunshots arrived to the scene in the area of East 139 Street and Morris Avenue in the Bronx.
The shooting happened just one block from the 40th Precinct headquarters.
40th Precinct detectives began their investigation and determined the victim was a 29-year-old male. He was unconscious and unresponsive with a single gunshot wound to the head.
Despite efforts by emergency medical services personnel to resuscitate the victim, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have yet to make any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing. The victim’s identity was not released pending family notification.
