WILMINGTON, DE – Delaware State Police arrested 38-year-old Daniel Russo for attempted robbery and related charges after an attempted carjacking at an Amazon facility in Wilmington.

On Monday, at around 5:38 a.m., a 29-year-old female employee exited the Amazon building and walked to her vehicle in the parking lot. As she entered her vehicle, Russo approached her, demanding that she exit and hand over her keys.

When the victim refused, Russo allegedly grabbed her and tried to forcibly remove her from the vehicle. The victim managed to close her door and escape to Amazon security.

Upon arrival, troopers were directed to Russo, who was still in the parking lot. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 2. Russo has been charged with attempted robbery in the second degree, a felony, and offensive touching. He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #2 and released on his own recognizance.
