BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ – The Berkeley Township Planning Board has announced that it will be holding a hearing to consider amendments to the Recreation and Open Space Inventory Element of the Master Plan Report on May 18, 2023. The hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Town Hall Meeting Room, First Floor, 627 Pinewald Keswick Road, Bayville, New Jersey 08721.

The amendment to the Master Plan will be via the adoption of documents entitled “Amended Recreation and Open Space Inventory, Township of Berkeley”, prepared by James M. Oris, PE, PP, CME, CFM of Remington and Vernick Engineers, 9 Allen Street, Toms River, New Jersey, 08753.

The amendment will reflect properties recently added to the Inventory and to amend the “Toms River Park” area of the Inventory. Files, plans, maps, and reports relating to the matter scheduled for hearing, including the “Amended Recreation and Open Space Inventory, Township of Berkeley” will be posted on the Township website ten days prior to the meeting. Individuals who cannot join in person can submit written comments or questions by contacting the Board Secretary via email at gnapolitano@berkeleytownship.org at least twenty-four (24) hours before the meeting.

Formal action may be taken at this meeting with respect to the matters listed on the agenda. Other business may also come before the Board upon which formal action may be taken. Portions of the meeting may be discussed in Closed Executive Session as provided by law. The hearing is in compliance with the applicable provisions of the Municipal Land Use Law and the ordinances of the Township of Berkeley, County of Ocean, State of New Jersey.
