ROCKLAND COUNTY, NY – District Attorney Thomas E. Walsh II announced yesterday that John Kezek, a former Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Officer, has pleaded guilty to Unlawful Imprisonment in the First Degree (Class E Felony) and Forcible Touching (Class A Misdemeanor) following a 2021 investigation into criminal activity inside the Rockland County Jail. Kezek, originally from Florida, New York, now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee.

The charges were based on allegations made by a female victim, an employee of the jail, who came into contact with Kezek while he was working in an official capacity as a corrections officer.

To protect the victim’s identity, very limited information has been released.

Kezek is scheduled for sentencing on July 26, 2023. He will be sentenced to a period of 5 years probation with a permanent order of protection for the victim. Executive Assistant District Attorney Kathleen Devlin prosecuted the case. District Attorney Tom Walsh emphasized the importance of recognizing that the actions of an individual should not reflect upon the entire community of corrections officers.
