NEW YORK CITY – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual involved in an attempted robbery in the Bronx. On Monday, April 10, 2023, at approximately 10:15 pm, a 42-year-old male was approached by an unknown individual in front of 1223 River Avenue.
The assailant attempted to remove the victim’s wallet from his pocket and his shopping cart before lifting his shirt and displaying a firearm in his waistband. The individual fled northbound on River Avenue without managing to take any property. The victim was unharmed during the incident.
The sought individual is described as a male with a light complexion, last seen wearing blue shorts, sandals, a black facemask, and a gray hat.
