ROCHESTER, NY – Police are investigating a recent shooting incident in the 400 block of Lyell Avenue that left a woman in her 20s with a gunshot wound to her lower body. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, arrived at Strong Hospital via private vehicle shortly after the incident.

Officers responded to the scene after receiving multiple ShotSpotter activations, which indicated gunshots had been fired in the area. Upon arrival, they found evidence of the shooting but no suspects in the immediate vicinity.

The victim is currently being treated at Strong Memorial Hospital for her non-life threatening injuries. No suspects have been apprehended, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
