NEW YORK – Gunfire erupted this morning in the Bronx as a 45-year-old man was found shot in front of a building on Jerome Avenue.
Police responded to a 911 call at approximately 5:47 am and discovered the victim with a headshot wound. Despite efforts to save his life, the man was pronounced dead upon arrival at Montefiore Medical Center.
The incident occurred within the confines of the 52nd precinct, and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Currently, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
The victim’s identity has not been released, and it is unclear what may have led to this senseless act of violence. Residents of the area have expressed shock and concern over the incident, calling for an end to gun violence in their community.
