61-year-old latest victim of NYC scooter bandits

New York, NY – A 61-year-old man fell victim to scooter thieves this week in New York City.

The New York Police Department is requesting the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a robbery that occurred within the 44th Precinct’s confines.

According to police, a 61-year-old male victim was walking near 200 East 167 Street at approximately 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, when two unknown individuals approached him on a motorized scooter and snatched his chain from his neck before fleeing south on Sheridan Avenue.

The victim suffered minor injuries but refused medical attention. The NYPD has released descriptions of the suspects to aid in their identification.

The first suspect is described as a male with a medium build and light complexion, who was wearing a gray sweater, black mask, and dark pants at the time of the robbery.

The second suspect is described as a male with a thin build and light complexion, who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black mask, and black gloves.
