CHRISTIANA, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred at the Christiana Mall on Saturday, around 6:40 pm. The incident began when three male suspects confronted an 18-year-old male victim near the food court entrance, leading to a heated argument that quickly escalated into a physical altercation involving the victim’s two friends.
One of the suspects pulled out a firearm and fired multiple rounds, striking the initial 18-year-old victim and his 16-year-old friend multiple times in the upper body. A third victim, another 18-year-old male, was standing outside the entrance and was also struck by a stray bullet. The suspects immediately fled the scene, leaving the three injured victims behind.
Mall security and first responders arrived quickly to administer aid, and all three victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The two victims with multiple gunshot wounds are currently listed in stable condition, while the third victim’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
The suspects are described as three black males in their late teens wearing dark clothing. Authorities are urging anyone with information on the identities or whereabouts of the suspects to contact Delaware State Police immediately.
In the meantime, police have increased patrols in the area and are working with mall management to ensure the safety of all patrons and staff.
