NYPD Investigating Attempted Assault in Midtown

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an attempted assault within the Midtown North Precinct. The incident occurred on Sunday, at approximately 1:50 PM, near 425 West 44 Street.

A 36-year-old victim engaged in a verbal dispute with an unknown male. The unidentified suspect then displayed a firearm and fired one round in the victim’s direction, striking a parked vehicle instead. The suspect fled northbound on 11 Avenue toward West 46 Street, and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium to dark complexion, last seen wearing a black jacket, red sweatpants, a black ski mask, and a black backpack.
