NEW YORK CITY, NY – Following an ongoing investigation, the New York City Police Department arrested and charged Robert Harris, a 63-year-old male, on Tuesday, at 10:30 PM within the 32 Precinct. Harris faces charges of manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to a fatal stabbing incident.
On Tuesday, at approximately 3:45 PM, police responded to a 911 call reporting a man stabbed at the intersection of West 135th Street and Malcolm X Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a 41-year-old male, identified as Derrick Johnson, with multiple stab wounds to the torso. Johnson was transported to NYC Health and Hospitals/Harlem, where he was pronounced deceased.
According to investigators, Harris and Johnson were engaged in a verbal dispute that escalated into a physical altercation. During the confrontation, Harris allegedly stabbed Johnson multiple times with a knife. Detectives apprehended Harris a few hours after the incident, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
