TRENTON, NJ – A 23-year-old male victim was shot and killed overnight in Trenton.
The Trenton Police Department and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force are currently investigating a shooting homicide that took place in the city, according to a report by Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.
On April 9, 2023, at approximately 6:56 p.m., the police received a notification from the ShotSpotter system, reporting multiple gunshots in the area of Lamberton and Federal Streets. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of a parked gray 2010 Infiniti G37. The victim was later identified as Jhosse Tolentino, a 23-year-old resident of Trenton. Both Tolentino and the vehicle were hit multiple times.
The victim was immediately transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is still ongoing.
