VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – A coordinated effort by the Virginia Beach Police Department led to the arrest of three suspects involved in an armed robbery on the 100 block of Price Street on Tuesday. After receiving a call about the robbery, an officer spotted the suspects getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. The officer pursued the vehicle onto I-264 East, and a felony stop was conducted near the Brambleton Avenue exit in Norfolk.

Four occupants were detained, and one suspect, Tae’Jon Scott (M/20) of Virginia Beach, attempted to flee on foot. During his escape, Scott accidentally discharged his firearm but was apprehended shortly after without further incident. He was transported to the hospital for minor injuries sustained from fleeing and was later charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

The other two suspects, Malachi Hardy (M/18) and Tamarriya Cross (F/18), both of Virginia Beach, were also arrested and charged in connection with the robbery. Hardy faces charges of robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, while Cross was charged with robbery. Three handguns were recovered from the scene of the traffic stop.
