Broadway Junction Subway Station Shooter Arrested

NEW YORK CITY, NY – Yesterday, the New York City Police Department has announced the arrest of a 22-year-old male, Alexx Massey, in connection to a non-fatal shooting that took place at the Broadway Junction subway station on February 27, 2022. Massey, a resident of Manhattan, has been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

According to the police report, a 27-year-old male victim and an unidentified male individual engaged in a verbal dispute on the southbound Broadway Junction and Somers Street subway station (“L”) train platform. The unidentified male then discharged a firearm, striking the victim once in the upper left side of his chest before fleeing on foot. The victim was transported to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

Following an ongoing investigation, police were able to identify Massey as the suspect in the shooting. Surveillance video and photos of Massey were obtained from the incident and played a crucial role in his identification and arrest.
