Police release sketch of Central Park attacker

NEW YORK, NY – A violent assault against a woman was reported early Thursday morning in Central Park. Today, police released a composite sketch of a man wanted for brutally assaulting a 55-year-old woman.

Now, the New York City Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the individual depicted in the sketch in connection with the attack.

According to police, at around 6 am on Thursday, the 55-year-old female was walking inside Central Park, along the reservoir when an unidentified individual engaged her in conversation and then assaulted the victim, banging her head against a tree multiple times.

“The individual was last seen fleeing eastbound on the 86 Street Transverse on a blue CitiBike. The victim was removed by EMS in stable condition to a local hospital,” NYPD said in a statement.

Police described the attacker as an adult-aged male with a medium complexion, approximately 5’4”, 140 pounds, dark colored close cut hair, with a blemish to the left side of his face. He was last seen wearing a dark blue jacket.
