Fugitive wanted for murder in Pittsburgh arrested by U.S. Marshals

PITTSBURGH, PA – The U.S. Marshal’s Western PA Fugitive Task Force and Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit brought a sense of relief to the community when they arrested 46-year-old Jermaine Colwell on Wednesday. Colwell was wanted for a shooting that occurred on February 28 in the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

The arrest followed an extensive search and investigation by the task force and apprehension unit. Colwell is charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Persons Not to Possess a Firearm, and Carrying a Firearm Without a License. He is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail.

The community has expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their diligent efforts in apprehending Colwell, who posed a threat to public safety.
