Manhunt continues for suspect in armed bus robbery in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect involved in an Armed Robbery (Gun) offense that took place on Tuesday, in the 700 block of 8th Street, Southeast.

At around 3:06 pm, the suspect approached the victim, both passengers on a circulator bus, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim’s property. The victim complied, and the suspect took money before exiting the bus and fleeing the scene.

Images of the suspect were captured by a surveillance camera and have been released to the public. Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity or knowledge of the incident is urged not to take any action but instead call the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone providing information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a violent crime committed in the District of Columbia.
