LONG ISLAND CITY, NY – Yesterday, Tandika Wright, 35, was arraigned on charges of murder, arson, and assault in the death of a neighbor at a NYCHA development in Long Island City.
According to the charges, Wright cut Lavina Nolley multiple times with a sharp object and set her apartment on fire.
Firefighters responding to the scene discovered Nolley’s body and immediately transported her to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. If convicted, Wright faces 25 years to life in prison. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Timothy Shortt of the District Attorney’s Homicide Bureau.
