BRONX, NY – Detectives with the 40th Precinct in the Bronx are investigating a subway groping incident involving a 19-year-old woman and an unknown male suspect on Wednesday.

According to police, at around 5:45 pm, as the northbound 6 train was heading into the 138th Street station, an unidentified male suspect approached the young woman and grabbed her inappropriately.

“The individual then followed the victim as she exited the train at the Hunts Point Avenue subway station and boarded a southbound 6 train,” the NYPD said. “When the victim exited the train at the Cypress Avenue Subway Station, the individual continued to follow the victim to her residential building and into the elevator while talking to the victim.”

At some point, the suspect fled the location. The woman was not physically injured during the unwanted encounter.

Police described the suspect as a male, 5’8” in height, approximately 180 lbs., and believed to be in his 20’s. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket, light-colored pants, and white sneakers.
