16-year-old groped and robbed aboard NYC subway train

NEW YORK, NY – Police are investigating a subway groping and robbery incident involving a 16-year-old female victim on Monday.

According to detectives with the New York City Police Department’s 88th Precinct, at around 6:40 am, the juvenile victim was riding the northbound C train when a man sat down next to her as the train approached the Clinton-Washington Avenue subway station.

The man then stuck his hand into the girl’s jacket pocket, put his hand on her crotch, and demanded she hands over her cell phone and the suspect fled the station when the train stopped.

She was not physically injured in the incident.

The individual is described as a male, approximately 5’9” in height, and believed to be 20-to-30-years old. He was last seen wearing a red and black plaid shirt, blue pants, black knit cap, black backpack, and dark colored sneakers.
