Man stabbed during unprovoked attack outside Staten Island deli

STATEN ISLAND, NY – The New York City Police Department’s 121st Precinct detective bureau is investigating an unprovoked attack outside a Staten Island deli on Saturday.

At around 11 pm, an unknown suspect approached a 52-year-old male victim outside the 220 Port Richmond Avenue deli. Police said that the suspect pulled a knife and stabbed the man in the neck without provocation before fleeing the scene.

He was last seen running down Castleton Avenue toward Jewett Avenue.

The man was rushed to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police described the suspect as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a red jacket, black pants, a black hooded sweatshirt, and white sneakers.
