NEW YORK, NY – Police in Manhattan are investigating a series of purse snatching that appear to be related. In this case, all of the suspects are also women.
On February 24, shortly before midnight, five unknown individuals approached a 48-year-old female victim at West 37 Street and 5 Avenue.

“The individuals asked the victim for the time and then attempted to forcibly remove her purse from her. The individuals were unable to remove the victims purse and proceeded to flee southbound on 6th Avenue. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident,” the NYPD said.
Another incident was reported on Friday, February 10, at around 6:45 pm. Police reported a 75-year-old female was exiting the Bryant Park restrooms located at West 43 Street and 6 Avenue when an unknown individual approached her and forcibly removed her purse.
“As a result of the force, the victim fell to the ground and sustained an injury to her left hand,” poice said. “The individual fled the location on foot into the West 33 Street PATH station.”
Then, on February 12th, a 51-year-old female was walking westbound on West 25 Street near 8 Avenue when an unknown individual pushed her to the ground and forcibly removed her cell phone and wallet. T
Police believe some or all of the incidents might be related to the same group of female suspects.
